One Skein Shawl Luxury Knitting Kit - Sail Away (Choose Your Colour)

Sail Away is part of the 'Shades of...' collection which includes a range of one skein shawl patterns knitted with luxurious semi-tonal silk and merino yarn.

There are 6 different colour options that you can choose for your kit, all designed to work beautifully with this pattern.

This kit contains:

• 1 x 100g / 400m skein of hand-dyed luxury 4 ply yarn (50% silk, 50% merino) Choose from:
• Shades of Summer Sun (yellow)
• Shades of Ocean (blue)
• Shades of Emerald (green)
• Shades of Caramel (brown)
• Shades of Amethyst (purple)
• Shades of Berry (red)
• 1 pattern (PDF or print)
• 1 removable marker
• An organza project bag

In addition you will need*:

• 1 x 80-100cm 3.75mm circular needle

About this Pattern

Imagine the freedom of sailing on the open water. Windblown hair. Salty skin. Setting your sights on the horizon. Letting the wind take you wherever it will and trusting that all will be OK. That's the feeling that inspired this shawl.

This half-circle shawl is worked from the top down and shaped like your view from the ship’s bow. After the garter tab cast-on, it’s smooth sailing through the body of stockinette. As you approach the border, you’ll hoist your sails through a series of eyelets and wavy lace motifs, before casting off and sailing into the sunset - with a lovely new shawl :)

This pattern was designed to showcase a 'Shades of...' colourway. This series of tonal colourways combine 2-3 different shades of colour that subtly blend together and give a beautiful depth and richness to your stitches. There are 6 different colour options that you can choose for your kit.

Please note that if your yarn is not in stock it will be dyed to order so please allow 5-7 days for delivery (longer if overseas)

Stitches Used – Sl1 wyif, knit, purl, kyok (knit-yarnover-knit), k2tog, ssk, yo (tutorials for the stitches used are linked in the pattern)

Measurements – The finished blocked item measures 63” (160 cm) wingspan and 17” (43cm) in depth

Gauge - 23 stitches and 32 rows to 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch after blocking
